Some context for the title of this blog

The word "pizzled" was derived from a recent flurry of emails (and yes, flurry is the appropriate term for any grouping of two or more emails) that was sent back and forth between two of the authors.  The flurry went as follows...

 :::START FLURRY:::

Carrie:    ahhh, just tried to spell "puzzle" as "pizzle", and now i wish that were a word. 'i'm feeling pizzled.'

Emily:    The puppy pizzled on the floor.

Carrie:    Their relationship pizzled.

Emily:    They painted their house a lovely shade of pizzle.

Carrie:    :D i like that

Emily:    How about...  her new car is a 2011 mercedes pizzle - the latest in fuel efficient luxury sedans.

Carrie:    haha, yes!

:::END FLURRY:::

My current opinion about potential definitions of the word "pizzled" is that it might best describe a state of existential crisis that can only be cured by the posting of random thoughts on the internet.  In the form of a transitive verb, to "pizzle" someone would be to erroneously convince them that the universe is an orderly place, completely lacking in mystery and nonsense.
